Visitor experience planning: Create a unique visitor experience masterplan

Visitor Experience Masterplans

Working within multi-disciplinary teams, we have developed visitor experience masterplans and masterplan for a wide range of sites including visitor attractions, heritage properties, castles, nature reserves, country parks and coastal destinations.

Our approach identifies potential future development scenarios informed by site context, market trends, case study analysis, stakeholder consultation, primary research and financial parameters. We create bespoke scoring matrices with a strong market and commercial focus to help shape and prioritise the direction of each masterplan.

Our visitor experience masterplanning services include:

  • Engagement with stakeholders, visitors and host communities
  • Market assessments
  • Identifying and defining product and service opportunities
  • Options appraisal to determine the preferred development scenario
  • Establishing phasing for delivery and operation
  • Preparing the masterplan and visitor experience masterplan (often in collaboration with other professionals)
  • Preparing the supporting business plan

We have produced and advised on visitor experience masterplans for clients including Hampshire County Council, Forestry England, Natural Resources Wales, Monmouthshire County Council and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (who kindly provided the header image of Cefn Coed Colliery Museum).
