Urquhart Castle is a nationally important heritage site, which attracts over 400,000 visitors per annum. The site comprises the remains of a complex medieval castle on a promontory overlooking Loch Ness alongside a visitor centre incorporating a film theatre, interpretation space, café and retail offer. Planning Solutions Consulting has been commissioned to work with Historic Environment Scotland to develop a Monument and Community Support Strategy for Urquhart Castle with an objective of identifying opportunities to enhance the visitor experience alongside community partnership and participation and assisting with the development of a local travel plan.
