Richard Linington, MA, Director
Richard Linington is a director of Planning Solutions Consulting. Richard has been working in the tourism, heritage, visitor experience, outdoor recreation and environmental sectors for 25 years. He has experience of working on complex projects where he carries out research to identify and evaluate the most appropriate development solutions. He also focuses on assessing new market opportunities, carrying out feasibility studies alongside preparing option appraisals, visitor management plans and business plans. Clients include Forestry England, Historic Environment Scotland, Natural Resource Wales, Wildlife Trusts, BirdWatch Ireland, Gladstone’s Library, Butser Ancient Farm, National Park Authorities, the National Trust and local authorities.
As well as consulting on client projects from 2005 to 2018 Richard also managed the marketing strategy and visitor experience development planning for CONKERS, a £19 million visitor attraction in the Heart of the National Forest. He started his tourism career by working in a tourist information centre. Richard has a master’s degree in the sociology and anthropology of travel and tourism.
