Oystermouth Castle is a medieval, Grade 1, scheduled ancient monument of international importance and is located in the seaside tourist village of Mumbles in Swansea. Working with Hiraeth Architects, we were commissioned to carry out a feasibility study to identify and evaluate options to enhance the visitor experience, including reviewing options for back of house functions and education services. PSC’s work included: an assessment of the current operation, consultation with stakeholders, a module of primary research amongst schools and visitors, a market assessment, review of case examples, options appraisal, carrying out a risk assessment and advising on potential funding opportunities.
