Client: Central Bedfordshire Council

Planning Solutions Consulting were commissioned by Central Bedfordshire Council to carry out a high-level options review to identify potential development opportunities at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, located on the south western edge of Leighton Buzzard. The Waterside Park is a former extraction site and the Grand Union Canal runs along its eastern boundary.

Our work focussed on: Carrying out a site and operations review with a focus on visitor infrastructure, car parking, conversion of former stable block, play, trails, environment and interpretation; demographic analysis of the residential population and current users and setting out the potential opportunities to enhance the visitor experience.

Opportunities focused on specific area of the visitor experience: the sense of arrival and welcome; events and activities; play;  network of trails and linkages and potential uses within the refurbished stable block
