Operational Reviews and Planning

What sets us apart from other consultancies is our hands-on operational management experience. Our sister companies manage three visitor attractions — including a heritage experience, an inland beach and watersport activity centre, a heritage farm park, a hotel, pub and a brewery — giving us a uniquely grounded perspective from which to offer practical operational and business advice.

We combine this direct experience with access to our sister companies’ senior management teams, allowing us to deliver insight that goes beyond theory. Our work typically focuses on developing new visitor experiences, attracting new markets, reviewing operating processes, and creating sustainable income-generating strategies.

The operating environment is becoming more challenging with the current economic context impacting on visitor demand and the cost base of visitor sites and tourism businesses.   Staff recruitment and retention is also challenging.  In essence we work with clients to create more resilience business and operating models, which includes working with clients:

  • Income generation planning
  • Operational analysis
  • Catering reviews and development strategies
  • Retail and buying strategies
  • Staffing models
  • Pricing analysis
  • Marketing action plans
  • Market and customer research

We have carried out operational reviews for a range of leisure and tourism sites, including Chichester District Council at the Novium Museum, Monmouthshire County Council at Caldicot Castle and Country Park, Peak District National Park Authority across their visitor centre and bike hire operations and the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation at Standalone Farm, Letchworth.
