Heritage Lottery Fund business plan Houghton Hall Park

Client: Central Bedfordshire Council

Planning Solutions Consulting worked alongside The Tourism Company to prepare the Business Plan for a Lottery Fund application. The business plan helped secure over £2m in funding. The park includes traditional parkland, and the project has reinstated important heritage features such as the walled garden and kitchen garden. The project has delivered a new visitor centre which provides catering and meeting space alongside heritage interpretation and space for community uses. The park acts as a hub for a wide range of community and entertainment events and activities. Catering was identified as a key income stream, and we advised on the cafe’s operational aspects, profile, and scale. The business plan set out the park’s financial model over 10 years.
