Client: Great Central Railway
We were commissioned to work on a heritage railway consultancy project where we carried out a feasibility study to review and make recommendations on the operation of the Great Central Railway, a leading steam heritage railway visitor attraction.
Our project reviewed the current operation, analysed the tourism and visitor attraction sectors to identify baseline data and the wider market trends impacting on the steam railway sector. We also carried out a bench-marking exercise looking at seven heritage stream railway operations in the UK to pinpoint examples of best practice. Our work helped to identify potential opportunities to support the ongoing development (with a focus on income generation) for this leading steam heritage railway attraction.
