Feasibility Study and Operational Review Snibston Museum

Snibston Museum is located on the former Snibston Colliery, which closed in 1983 after 150 years of operation. In 1992, the new owners, Leicestershire County Council, opened an industrial heritage museum and country park on the site. Working with the internal project team, we were commissioned to carry out a market feasibility study and operational review to support a funding bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund. Work included an analysis of the existing product and visitor market, a review of the current financial performance, an assessment of the new Mining Lives concept being developed, as well as an assessment of the marketplace and identifying the impacts if the Mining Lives project was taken forward, including an uplift in visitor numbers and the financial performance of the attraction. We carried out significant consultation to ensure future development initiatives met the needs of existing and ‘missed’ audiences. .
