Golden Grove and Gelli Aur Country Park feasibility study

Heritage consultancy feasibility studyGolden Grove and Gelli Aur Country Park feasibility study

Client: Golden Grove Trust
Working in a multi-disciplinary team led by Holland Heritage and including Hiraeth Architecture and McQuitty Landscape Design we were commissioned to carry out a feasibility study to identify and evaluate opportunities to take forward the restoration of Golden Grove.

The estate includes a mansion house (Grade II*), stable block (Grade II*) and the wider parkland includes an arboretum and deer park. Golden Grove is a Grade II* Registered Historic Park and Garden and is located within the Cadw / ICOMOS Tywi Valley entry in the Register of Historic Landscapes of Outstanding Interest in Wales.

Work carried out by the project team included site assessments, identifying the heritage significance and capacity for change, reviewing the planning and policy context, carrying out a market assessment and managing a public consultant event. The research was drawn together to identify potential options, which we evaluated. The feasibility study was funded by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Rural Innovation Fund which is funded from the U.K. Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund.  Find out more about Golden Grove and Gelli Aur Country Park here
