• Site and Location Assessment: We assess the suitability of potential sites for glamping development, taking into account local planning policy, road access, services provision, and the wider character of the surrounding area — giving you a clear, early view of viability before significant investment is committed.
• Market Demand Assessment: We carry out detailed market assessments that profile the residential population within key drivetime catchments, analyse volume and value trends in the tourism market, and — where possible — engage with the relevant destination management organisation to identify gaps in the local accommodation offer. We also provide insight into product development trends across the glamping and wider tourist accommodation sector. A critical part of this work is mapping the competitive landscape, to ensure any proposed glamping offer is distinct in the marketplace and contributes to the critical mass of tourist accommodation in the area.
• Options Appraisal: The glamping sector offers a wide spectrum of product types — from bell tents and safari tents to wooden lodges and bespoke design-led structures. We develop a longlist of options and evaluate these using a weighted scoring matrix to identify the preferred option and alongside indicative capital costs. This process also considers complementary experiences — such as guided nature walks or foraging sessions — that can add value and differentiation to the overall offer.
• Financial Analysis and Risk Assessment: Drawing on the market demand assessment and agreed unit mix, we build occupancy and tariff models that underpin a five-year forecast trading profile, covering both revenue and cost centres. A supporting staffing structure is prepared alongside a sensitivity analysis and risk assessment — giving you a detailed understanding of financial performance under different scenarios.
• Operational Business Review: Already running a glamping business? We can review your current operation and identify practical opportunities to increase occupancy, grow revenue, develop secondary spend, and reduce operating costs.

We work with an architectural practice — Hiraeth Architecture — that can provide tailored design input at any stage of a project, from site zoning and unit placement through to car parking layout and the design of bespoke glamping structures.

Hands-On Experience: The Added Value of Managing Tourism Businesses

Our advice is grounded in something most consultancies can’t offer — direct, practical experience of actually running tourism businesses.

Our sister company owns and operates a portfolio of tourism and leisure businesses, including a heritage farm park, an inland watersports destination, a learning and discovery centre, and a hotel. This hands-on involvement in the day-to-day realities of managing visitor-facing businesses — from staffing and operations to revenue management and customer experience — brings a level of commercial realism to our consultancy work that is difficult to replicate from the outside.

In addition, our co-founder sits on the board of a company responsible for a cluster of self-catering lodges alongside a glamping and camping operation, giving us further first-hand insight into the tourist accommodation sector specifically.
