Fort Road Recreation Ground is the largest multi-sport and recreation facility in Newhaven. Recent improvements have seen the creation of a pump track and the complete rebuilding of the skatepark. Funding is also in place to carry out improvements to the basketball and tennis courts.

Lewes District Council has commissioned, landscape architects, The terra firma Consultancy to produce a masterplan Fort Road Recreation Ground. Planning Solutions Consulting are working closely with The terra firma Consultancy to produce the masterplan with a focus on carrying out a market assessment, consultation and evaluating future opportunities.
