Feasibility Study Cremorne Riverside Centre

Cremorne Riverside Centre Feasibility StudyClient: Doug Rose Smith Leisure Consultants

Working with Doug Rose Smith Leisure Consultants we carried out a study for a new watersports offer which is located adjacent to the River Thames. The focus is on providing access to canoeing and kayaking for young people. The Cremorne Riverside Centre also works with Kayaking London and delivers guided kayaking tours of the River Thames.

Our work focussed on:

  • Community engagement
  • Primary research among stakeholders
  • Market assessment with a focus on analysis of key demographic catchments
  • Financial analysis

The two buildings are clad in corten steel and contain an area for boat storage, changing room and an office. The buildings are designed to be dismantled if they need to be relocated due to flooding. In 2008 the RIBA announced the best new buildings award and the Cremorne Riverside Centre was selected as one of the winners for the London region and it was a runner up in the Sustainability Awards 2008, Sustainable Building of the Year (Small Project) category.
