David Howells BSc – Economic Development and Regeneration Associate

dave_howells_3David is a professionally qualified and highly experienced individual working in the field of tourism, regeneration and economic development and organisational management.  As an economic development consultant he has a Postgraduate Degree in Tourism Management from the University of Surrey and has significant consultancy experience of developing tourism strategies, programmes, development structuring and evaluation and impact assessment.

With over 20 years experience of working in both the public and private sector, he has specific knowledge and experience of economic development, including socio-economic research, audience development, feasibility and options appraisal, business planning, tourism and cluster development and community regeneration. He has worked on a number of destination-based tourism baseline studies and impact studies and evaluations, as well as the identification of product development opportunities and the design and implementation of deliverable action plans.

He also has experience of structuring and delivering multi-disciplinary programmes and projects to promote regeneration and tourism development, including devising delivery structures and identifying and presenting funding packages.

David is a Member of the Tourism Society and Institute of Economic Development. David has a sound knowledge of research based appraisal work in tourism, leisure with a particular focus on visitor attractions and destination planning. He has considerable experience in research planning and execution, feasibility studies and business planning.
