For 25 years we have been providing a catering consultancy service to a range of clients. Our focus is on catering operations which are developed within visitor attractions and the wider hospitality sector, these include:
- Museums
- Heritage centres

- Leisure centres
Often, catering is a key revenue generator, and the catering offer forms a part of the wider visitor experience project we are working on. Our core catering consultancy services relate to:
- Operational reviews of existing cafes
- Cafe feasibility studies and business
- Market and customer research
- Interior design (with an associate)
Our Work
We have advised on a number of catering projects for a range of clients:
- Carmarthenshire County Council: Carried out a feasibility study to develop the visitor experience at Parc Howard Museum. We also advised on the opportunity of introducing a café within the museum
- Chichester District Council: We were commissioned to assess the opportunity to introduce a catering offer within the Novium Museum.
- Hampshire County Council: We carried out a feasibility study to develop a visitor cafe at Lepe Country Park, which was part of a wider £19m transformational project
- High Peak Borough Council/Staffordshire Moorlands District Council: As part of a wider operational review of the Pavilion Gardens, a Grade II listed building in Buxton we assessed the opportunity to increase income from the catering offer
- Horizon Leisure Trust: Carried out a review of the café operations at two leisure centres. We prepared a supporting development plan for each café
- Local Authority: We were appointed by a local authority to identify and evaluate development options for an existing café at a heritage site
- Private landowner: Working with the client team, PSC advised on the potential opportunity to introduce a new beach-style catering offer in the south west of England
- Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council: We were commissioned to carry out an economic feasibility study to test the viability of introducing a café within Tonbridge Castle

What Our Clients Say
“Working with Richard was a great experience. Our team lacked the internal skills to deliver this project scope, so we appointed Richard at Planning Solutions Consulting Ltd to assess the feasibility of a new café operation at Tonbridge Castle. He provided a fully comprehensive, high-quality report that gave us a completely unbiased and thoroughly scoped perspective. Thanks to his expertise, our authority was able to make a confident, well-informed decision on whether to take this concept forward. I highly recommend Richard to any organisation needing expert consultancy for complex feasibility and commercial projects.” Laura French, Tonbridge Castle, Events and Customer Services Manager, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council
