Newham Heritage Centre Business Plan – National Lottery Heritage Fund
Client: Newham Council
The Newham Heritage Centre project is focussed on transforming Canning Town Old Library, a Grade II listed, into a vibrant Heritage Centre. Newham Heritage Centre will accommodate a new borough archive centre, reading room with supporting education, flexible and interpretation spaces and a café. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, including architects and activity planner, Planning Solutions Consulting was commissioned to work with Newham Council to prepare a business plan alongside an organisational and governance strategy to support a funding application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Our work included assessing revenue-generating opportunities, advising on governance options and management of the heritage centre, reviewing the policy context to help build the strategic case for investment, carrying out a market assessment alongside preparing a 10 year financial model, identifying key risks and approaches to risk mitigation and setting out a framework for monitoring. Our work helped to support a successful application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
