Accommodation needs for watersports users and activity tourists in Bridgend County Borough

Planning Solutions Consulting has been commissioned to carry out a module of primary research identifying accommodation needs to support the sustainable growth of activity tourism across Bridgend County Borough, with a particular focus on surfing, watersports, mountain biking and cycling.

The research builds on the success of Rest Bay Watersports Centre, which opened in 2019 with a café and bistro following funding secured by the Council. As surf tourism and outdoor activity visitors to the area grow, the study looks at whether current accommodation provision, from campsites to self-catering and glamping are meeting the needs of the market.
