Visitor Impact Assessment, Steart Peninsula, Somerset

Visitor impact modellingClients: Bristol Port Company, RSPB and Wetland and Wildfowl Trust

Our work focused on designing and implementing a range of onsite surveys on Steart Peninsula to identify the needs and aspirations of visitors and members of the local community and we also liaised with local farming businesses. Our work led to forecasting future visitor numbers and vehicle movements.

The Steart Peninsula project is related to the creation of intertidal habitats through managed realignment involving removal of part of the existing seawall and the construction of new embankments and drainage channels. The Steart Peninsula project involves the construction of a single storey education facility including hide, footpaths and multi-user track (including bridleway), car park, visitor facilities and new vehicular access.
