Moira Furnace is a 19th Century iron-making blast furnace set within ancient woodland alongside the Ashby Canal and is a Historic England Scheduled Ancient Monument. The blast furnace was built by the Earl of Moira in 1804 and currently houses a museum of industrial and social history. The wider country park incorporates a number of business units, picnic space, playground and lime kilns. The site also hosts a wide range of events including a canal festival and Moira Furnace Folk Festival.
Planning Solutions Consulting has been commissioned to work with North West Leicestershire District Council and the Moira Furnace Trust to carry out a market assessment and options appraisal for Moira Furnace Museum and Country Park.
