Increasing Visitor Numbers: A Bumper Summer of Visitors to CONKERS, September 2017

CONKERS, the award-winning visitor attraction in the heart of The National Forest, has enjoyed a bumper summer this year with visitor numbers reaching 57,800 in July and August 2017. This figure represents a 16 per cent increase over the figure of 49,500 for the equivalent summer time period in 2016. One of the key factors in this increase and a major new attraction for visitors was the 80-seat 4D cinema. The cinema shows films that stimulate all five senses and has welcomed over 50,000 visitors since its opening in April 2017. A new family 4D Halloween film will be featured over the October half-term holidays this autumn, featuring Sonic.  Chris Sturdy, Regional Operations Manager at CONKERS added: “We’re over the moon that so many people have visited CONKERS this summer to enjoy the range of activities, events and attractions that we have to offer. The new 4D cinema has had a tremendous impact and has been a real draw for family visitors.”
