Located on the Somerset Levels near Glastonbury, Shapwick Heath is a major wetlands nature reserve and covers over 500 hectares. There is evidence of Neolithic man on the reserve with the famous Sweet Track which is the oldest man made routeway in Britain. The reserve generates a number of education visits and hosts events and special activities for visitors. The reserve also provides opportunities for volunteering and learning new skills.
Working closely with the onsite management team we identified new product opportunities and revenue generating opportunities. We also produced a detailed visitor forecasting model and carried out a financial analysis to support future development initiatives and we set out capital costs.
