Humberhead Peatlands NNR incorporates Thorne, Goole, Crowle and Hatfield Moors and represents the largest area of raised bog wilderness in lowland Britain. Over 200 species of bird have been recorded on site. Both Thorne and Hatfield Moors are SSSIs and the site has received Special Protection Area and candidate Special Area of Conservation status. The reserve incorporates a network of way-marked trails of differing lengths, viewing platforms and bird hides have also been introduced. A number of guided walks and events are run at the reserve.

We identified the main opportunities to enhance the existing visitor experience and carried out a consultation exercise, market review, visitor modelling and produced a trading profile to assess the viability of proposals put forward. We also advised on management and operational considerations.
