Client: Mid-Suffolk District Council

We led a multi-disciplinary study team on behalf of Mid-Suffolk District Council to assess the potential to enhance the tourism and recreational facilities along The Waveney Valley and the River Waveney.   Opportunities included, but were not limited to: visitor accommodation, environmental enhancement schemes, watersports and access points and angling. With a network of footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes, there was an opportunity to theme the routes and link the sites. There were also opportunities to create ‘shorter circular routes’.  A key objective was focussed on destination development and raising the profile of the area. As part of assessing the destination development and recreational opportunities the study analysed two major sites in particular, producing outline schemes for grant application and planning purposes.
