Charlotte Linington, Visitor Experience and Tourism Accessibility Consultant

Working as a Visitor Experience and Tourism Accessibility Consultant Charlotte provides support to ensure the visitor experience and tourism projects we work on are inclusive and accessible to all. For the last 20 years Charlotte has specialised in working with people with disabilities and in particular children with disabilities.

As well as providing input into our projects Charlotte works as a Specialist Family Support Worker where she works with families who have children with severe and complex disabilities. The focus is working with parents to develop strategies to manage challenging behaviours. She often works in close partnership with other professionals such as social workers, speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists and teachers.

Charlotte provides workshops on sensory play and communication and signing. Her specialist areas of interest include:

  • Recognising the importance of play
  • Sensory integration
  • Supporting communication
  • Parenting skills
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Supporting siblings

She previously worked for Chichester College providing educational support to adults with complex learning disabilities. Charlotte was a trustee, then employee of Reaching Families a charity which focuses on empowering, caring for and informing parents and families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in West Sussex.
