Conkers Visitor Attraction, Heart of the National Forest, Leicestershire
Planning Solutions Limited were selected as operators of Conkers (www.visitconkers.com) a £16 million high profile environmentally themed national attraction in a rural area of Leicestershire which opened in April 2001 (previously operated as the Heart of the National Forest Visitor Centre).
PSL operational responsibility covers the entire 120 acre site which attracts over 220,000 visitors annually (including 35,000 education visits and 60,000 visits from our community membership scheme.) The range of Skills employed include research and development, strategic and business planning and the direct operation of the interactive attraction, three lakeside restaurants, specialist shops, the events and educational programmes and the marketing and corporate strategy. Conkers benefits include:
Creating a tourist destination in an area not known for its tourism profile Creating significant number of jobs;
Developing a new (and positive) branded identity for the area;
Attracting significant inward investment to the area;
Extending the tourist season.
We were also responsible for carrying out the market assessment, financial modelling, business planning, planning applications and marketing and promotional strategies.
The creation of Conkers (previously known as the National Forest Millennium Discovery Centre) was pioneered by The National Forest Charitable Trust (formerly Heart of the National Forest Foundation)- a partnership of business, the community and the public sector, drawn principally from Leicestershire and supported by an influential body of Patrons.
Harry Ramsden's, Brighton
A world famous seafront restaurant operated by Planning Solutions Limited offering all day food and refreshments. Fully licensed, with approximately 100 covers. Planning Solutions Limited carried out a site appraisal, an audit of existing restaurants and takeaways within Brighton as well as market research, a full market appraisal and business feasibility study. Currently, we are managing a highly successful marketing and promotional campaign for the restaurant and exploring the possibility of developing an interactive web based experience.

National Brewery Centre
Following the closure of the Coors Visitor Centre and Museum of Brewing in 2008(formerly the Bass Museum), Planning Solutions Limited has invested in and opened a visitor centre and museum in Burton upon Trent Called the National Brewery Centre.
It retains key elements of the existing facilities, updating and reorganising the site to create a unique visitor attraction that will
ensure the site’s success.
The National Brewery Centre is an important heritage asset which tells the story of brewing in the UK.

Onboard TV
PSL manages Onboard TV Limited which produces television features and adverts which are screened on wide screen televisions operating on the Wightlink car ferries and FastCats sailing between the mainland and the Isle of Wight.
