Conkers Visitor Attraction, Heart of the National Forest, Leicestershire

Planning Solutions Limited were selected as operators of Conkers (www.visitconkers.com) a £16 million high profile environmentally themed national attraction in a rural area of Leicestershire which opened in April 2001 (previously operated as the Heart of the National Forest Visitor Centre).   PSL operational responsibility covers the entire 120 acre site which attracts over 220,000 visitors annually (including 35,000 education visits and 60,000 visits from our community membership scheme.) The range of Skills employed include research and development, strategic and business planning and the direct operation of the interactive attraction, three lakeside restaurants, specialist shops, the events and educational programmes and the marketing and corporate strategy. Conkers benefits include: Creating a tourist destination in an area not known for its tourism profile Creating significant number of jobs; Developing a new (and positive) branded identity for the area; Attracting significant inward investment to the area; Extending the tourist season.   We were also responsible for carrying out the market assessment, financial modelling, business planning, planning applications and marketing and promotional strategies. The creation of Conkers (previously known as the National Forest Millennium Discovery Centre) was pioneered by the Heart of the National Forest Foundation- a partnership of business, the community and the public sector, drawn principally from Leicestershire and supported by an influential body of Patrons.

Harry Ramsden's, Brighton

A world famous seafront restaurant operated by Planning Solutions Limited offering all day food and refreshments. Fully licensed, with approximately 100 covers. Planning Solutions Limited carried out a site appraisal, an audit of existing restaurants and takeaways within Brighton as well as market research, a full market appraisal and business feasibility study. Currently, we are managing a highly successful marketing and promotional campaign for the restaurant and exploring the possibility of developing an interactive web based experience. National Brewery Centre

Following the closure of the Coors Visitor Centre and Museum of Brewing in 2008(formerly the Bass Museum), Planning Solutions Limited has invested in and opened a visitor centre and museum in Burton upon Trent Called the National Brewery Centre. It retains key elements of the existing facilities, updating and reorganising the site to create a unique visitor attraction that will ensure the site’s success. Onboard TV

PSL manages Onboard TV Limited which produces television features and adverts which are screened on wide screen televisions operating on the Wightlink car ferries and FastCats sailing between the mainland and the Isle of Wight. Peckham Pulse, London

Peckham Pulse was a ground breaking new £14 million sports and health centre in South London, the centre, which represented a flagship of the Government’s Healthy Living Strategy was opened in 1999. Planning Solutions won the contract to design, set up and operate the catering and retail activities within the centre including the main outlet, which is branded as The Pulse Cafe. We also established the service standards and menu production which is geared specifically towards healthy living. A strong emphasis is placed on information and education for healthy diets and liaison with health professionals based at the Pulse. Planning Solutions also cater for between 300-350 children at parties per month which are held at the Centre. We also cater for a number of local authority functions. The Centre is fully accessible for disabled persons.

Super Tubing

Planning Solutions Limited, will be opening their lastest leisure venture Super Tubing, where visitors slide down the longest super tube in the UK. Located at Ebbw Vale Festival Park the operation will be opening on 31st July 2010. Watch this space.www.supertubing.co.uk
