Nature reserve business plan, Brockholes – a floating visitor centre

Visitor centre business planClient: Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside

Working as visitor attraction business planinng consultants we worked with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s project team to prepare a business plan, which was used to successfully gain £8 million in funding, for Brockholes a  ‘flagship‘ wildlife visitor experience, near Preston.    The visitor centre is a ‘floating visitor centre’.

This involved carrying out a market review in terms of the visitor attraction and tourism sectors, a demographic analysis of the core residential market, concept development of the visitor experience, preparing a penetration rate analysis, producing a detailed financial model and carrying out a risk analysis. We also advised on pre and post opening marketing initiatives and management/governance options and operational considerations.
