River Lambourn Urban Restoration Project
We are working with Resources for Change to complete an Audience Development Plan for the final 2.5km of the River Lambourn as it flows through Newbury, Berkshire.
Â
The plans will support a bid in the region of £1 million to the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project aims to bring badly needed improvements to a locally important green space as well as providing an opportunity to increase awareness of the river’s place in local history and its significant heritage value. It will provide a valuable educational opportunity to raise awareness of issues surrounding the way society interacts with local freshwater environments.
A key aim of the work with the Pang, Kennet & Lambourn Valley Countryside Project will be to carry out consultation which leads to increased community involvement and which leaves a good legacy in terms of improved and ongoing communication with the local community about the site.
