Tree top walk Kew Gardens
A new tree top walkway has opened to the public at Kew Gardens. The Rhizotron and Xstrata Tree Top Walkway takes visitors underground and then 18m high into the tree canopy. The journey starts in the Rhizotron, taking them through an apparent crack in the ground, allowing them to explore tree root biology. Visitors will then climb the main stairway to the Xstrata Walkway. It is a 200m long string of 12 modular walkway trusses at 18m high, connected to 10 circular platforms. There is a larger platform area for school groups.
For one of our clients we carried out a study to examine the potential of introducing a tree top walk within Wales.
